About

Written for physicians, by the people building the tools.

AI for Doctors is a field guide to artificial intelligence in clinical practice — what's real, what's hype, and what's worth the disruption of changing how you work.

Most clinicians don't have time to evaluate software. The pitch decks all say the same thing — "AI-powered", "HIPAA-compliant", "saves you hours" — and the only way to know what's true is to have already deployed the thing in a real practice. That's the gap this publication exists to close.

We write for the solo physician and the small practice: the people who feel the administrative weight most and have the least slack to absorb a bad tool. Our articles are meant to be read between patients, not in a procurement meeting.

Why we're qualified to write this

We build AI tools for medical practices. Three of them — Voti, an on-device AI medical scribe; Phiclaw, a HIPAA-aligned practice-automation agent; and Ratatui, a GLP-1 and peptide tracker — are in clinicians' hands today. Building in this category means we live with the hard parts: BAAs, on-device inference, EHR integration, and the difference between a demo and a tool a nurse will actually open on a busy Tuesday.

Our disclosure, in plain terms

This site is published by the team that builds Voti, Phiclaw, and Ratatui. When we recommend one of our own tools, we label it. When we point you to something we didn't build, we say that too. We don't take payment for placement on our shortlist — the test for inclusion is whether we'd run it in our own exam room.

How we evaluate a tool

  • Does it do one job exceptionally? Suites that do ten things adequately rarely survive contact with a real schedule.
  • Where does the patient data go? On-device beats cloud when it can; a signed BAA is non-negotiable when data does leave the building.
  • Does it reduce clicks, or add them? A tool that creates a new login to hate is a net loss, however clever.
  • Would a skeptical nurse keep using it in week three? Adoption, not the demo, is the real benchmark.
